tought question

One of my greatest sources of fear is passive aggressive behavior. I guess I don’t fully understand why it is considered culturally unacceptable to have debates, arguments or occasionally express anger. Why can’t we disagree, take responsibility and do better next time?

Passive aggressive behavior solves nothing! It wears people down, it breeds enmity, it begets malice.

I don’t know about you, but I would rather be labeled as occasionally confrontational than manipulative.
I would rather have one miserable day or even a week, than many months of pettiness, snide remarks or comments. To be honest, I can’t handle it. I don’t play these games, and it seems like the only way to rise above is to be disingenuous.

I’m curious to hear about how colleagues effectively confront passive aggressive warfare? “Beating people at their own game,” is not my interest. I just want this kind of destructive behavior which seems to be evident in every parish atmosphere to be named and to stop!
